Hello, I had to replace the fuel pump and I did replace the fuel filter. The car runs well once I get it started
but before I changed the fuel pump and filter, it started immediately with no problem. Now it takes alot of
effort and forcing it to start. I just put a brand new battery on it, that did not solve the problem.
I know there are many sensors on this beast. Its old and everytime something goes wrong people want me
to just get rid of it. Im not interested in giving up. This is a ford engine 390. It has the same parts other suvs have yet it acts different. I am very good at diagnosis until I got this car. I bought it in new york
and drove it out here to california. I always read the forums and I do not ignore what they say.
One quick question, could this be solved by changing the rotor, distributor cap, spark plug wires?
Once it starts its running great. I just drove it 700 miles roundtrip to los angeles to sf.

Hi Manira and welcome to LZ.
I suggest you post your query and ask for help in this section:
https://www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/land-rover-discovery.8/
There are female mechanics on here too - not just blokes - but importantly many people who are willing to help out.
Good luck :)

Hello Manira, and welcome. I've nothing to contribute to the current problem, I just wanted to mention that my last two addresses in the US before moving to Europe back in '87 or so were Mill Valley and the Monterey Bay area. Beautiful areas both, sure miss it there.

Go back and check what you've done, no disrespect meant but if it was fine before you might have missed an o ring or something simple that's now letting air in causing the fuel to run back to the tank when left for a while.
And welcome to the forum :D
