apologise in advance for the stupid question but I've looked at so many books that all claim to be the one I am looking for, I just don't want to buy the wrong one.

I am looking for a maintenance book for my discovery for oil changes and filter changes that will show you and explain how to do them I obviously have the correct oil measurements etc. in my owners hand book but not where to find the right filters etc.... they maybe easy to find but as of yet I have not had time to get under the truck.

yup not yet have I had a straight answer to any question on here haha although only asked two things including this one....

haynes manual will be the reply but ive seen 3 on ebay all different books / covers for the same truck all £20 each and il buy the wrong one that's my luck :)

as above, download the "rave" manual

haynes manual can't be that hard to get right surely? as long as its the right year for your discovery it'll cover the right stuff...
 
i just seen the thread title... a 1989 300tdi?? Has it had an engine transplant??

I don't actually know what year they moved over to 300tdi's but that sounds a bit old to be a 300tdi to me! A 92 is a K reg if i'm not mistaken and they're 200tdi's...
 
confusing thread title.....1989 disco 300tdi???

is it a '98 300tdi or an '89 200 with a retro fitted 300?

I've got one of the first 300's and that is a '93, there were some crossovers you can even find a few '94 200's.
 
thanks for the comments.... like the dummy thing see that before on some posts lmao, it happens as a result of someone asking questions and other people posting crap if people just said any book 1998 reg will cover it or the rave download it would be simple that's what forums should be about but thanks anyway I will know where not to ask in the future haha :D
 
seem to have redeemed yerself - amongst the junk n jokes/p**s taking is some very valuable knowledge though so get stuck in - it'll pay off in the long run
