Hi my landy has just finished being rebuilt, when driving down a straight piece of road i get to about 50-60 mph and it likes to dart slightly about in the road (a bit scary at times). just wondering if this is normal? i have a rear anti roll bar fitted but not the front. standard wheels on at the moment. the only change, it has been lifted 2 inches on the back and about an inch on the front, Any ideas or comments please.
no its fine when coming on and off the throttle, its fine on the back country roads, it go's round corners like a dream. its like it gets a wobble on left to right at speed and if you dont slow down to stop it you will end up off the road or rolling over. i haven't got the balls to take it over 60 mph 
its only done 200 miles on its new suspension, could it just need settling it a bit more?

Have a search for death wobble. It's usually a combination of small amounts of play

Give us a full list of what you've done ?
Worn bushes give all sorts of scary symptoms, did you replace them all?
Did you check that the brackets welded to the axles didn't have worn bolt holes?
I had that, it isn't obvious unless you look for it and it made my steering frightening the faster I went but more notable on and off power, that's why I asked.
Swop front wheels to back?
Disconnect the damper?
Free play in the box?
Loose box mounting bolts?
Power steering fluid low?

ok, i will try these suggestions. Its has all been taken apart so i could get the chassis galvanized and put back together again (it did not do it before)
New shocks and springs all round, + 2inch
New uprated steering damper
recon power steering box
new poly bushes all round (pretty sure thet have all been changed)
new brakes and brake lines
replaced transfer box
replaced steering wheel for slightly smaller mono
I will go and check for play in the steering box and post back, thanks for your help
Umm, i bought a front anti roll bar but i have no brackets on my chassis or my front axle. Is it worth trying it with the rear anti roll bar off? Is it still possible to have the front one fitted by welding brackets on chassis and axle?

Over the past 12 months we have replaced the springs twice and shockers once, fitted a full polly bush kit, replaced all ball joints and fitted H/D steering rods and it still did as yours is doing, we also had a power steering problem with the belt squealing the new pump and belt was tight but when manouvering the steering would squeal on full lock, we did have some play in the steering but covered everything except the power steer box, anyway we have just recently replace the power steering box with one from a 2010 model defender and the problem has now gone and the 90 drives perfectly

Thats very intresting, i did change the steering box for a recon one it doesent have any leaks or play.

First as someone said check the swivel preload, its important. Also doing a lift as you say with more at the back can result in the front axle steering angles[castor] getting critical and so rather touchy. Some landys seem ok with a lift and others not. Caster correction bushes can fix problem.
Not wanting to sound too much like an idiot, but what exactly is the swivel preload? And caster correction bushes?
ok i have tried swapping the wheels and checked every single nut and bolt underneath, there doesn't seem to be any free play in the box or any other part of the steering. But when i took the steering damper off and took a drive the problem seemed to have been solved, very weird as this is a brand new britpart uprated one. I could apply slight pressure to the damper itself once off to push it together, I kept doing this until I could not push it together any more then put it back on. Again weirdly took it for a drive and the problem seems to have gone. Does this make any sense to any1?
