Hi all long time since i have used the forum but hoping it could help with some info?

so am looking at finaly removing the old td from my 90 not that theres anything wrong with it just abit gutless and would love a v8 in there to play with abit and have that noise!

at the mo it has done 87k ano its not much for the doosil but just want a change, so if any 1 is interested in it give me a pm.

so the 3.5 v8 engine am looking for what its going to be like to fit in what's going to have to be changed ano all the fuel lines and distributor setup what about engine mounts? and positon's? i have read that it will bolt straight on to my lt77 gear box but later on i would want to change to an lt85 what will this be like to swop will it fit with same transfer box? does the tunnel have to be changed?

as much info on this would be great

thanks

normally v8 has different tunnel, seat box front flange floor plates etc as transmission sits a little further forward like 300 tdi (300 tdi bits casn be used),v8 box is also longer both lt77 and lt85 ,but would need conversion plate ets to bolt to your 4 cylinder gearbox, you wil need to weld on v8 mounts to chassis, and if putting it in position lr did all bits like exhaust can be bought as std parts

I have available to me a lt85 gear box out of a 110 v8 defender without transfer box,
Would this fit in the same position and tunnel as the lt77 and bolt onto my 3.5 with the same clutch as the lt77 and use the transfer box?

the hi/lo cross lever on transfer box is different all the rest sit at 12oclock lt85 sits a 3 oclock ,it normally sits forward like r380 with similar tunnel and is longer than diesel short bell housing lt77s

so basically one way or another i have to change the tunnels and floor plates for v8 ones because i have tryed it in with a milner adaptor i have but it touches the bulkhead and i dont want to cut it to fit rather change the box
