Hi there
I have a 1985 ex mod 2.5 NA diesel
currently still has OEM 24v military power generator
and I was wondering if you guy's now if this defender has a Voltage Regulator build in generator
if not
where would be located?

*Installed two new batteries
after a while driving , both batteries are being drained

Do you guy's have any advise?

ON the 1985 military defender the 24v system was entirely independent from the 12v system of the actual vehicle.

The 24v system can be removed safely unless you want to run radios etc

If you batteries are being drained the problem will lie with the 12v side of things and 12v alternator (other side of engine)

My rover does not have an alternator on the other side of the engine..

What I know is that this vehicle was a military radio truck.
It has a box located behind the passenger seat.

I disconnected the wires that went to the box since I installed a power inverter as shown below
and I was wondering that by disconnecting the +/- wires would cause the batteries not to charge by generator

Aah okay so Indonesian military might have it set up differently compared to uk military. Different contract etc

Are the bulbs 24v then?
