I rebuilt a second hand one and had it hot dipped galvanised did not experience any warping . My welding was not perfect but functional.

Similarly, didn't experience and significant distortion after galvanising, didn't bother with any bracing and it bolted straight back onto the build jig. I suffered a bit of panel rippling but its hardly noticeable. If your really worried about distortion then I guess your going to have to have a very substantial jig that pics up on multiple point like the chassis mounts, door hinge mounts and windscreen mounts, then you need to make sure this jig wont distort with the heat.IMG_1038.jpg IMG_1040.jpg

Thanks for suggestions folks.
Nice work Blacburn.
My welding is restricted to straight lines and on a bench, I dont think my skills are up to it.
I have been looking at local fabricators/galvanising online ( I am in Poole Dorset) which I may contact if need be.
I have had no reply from Ashtree two weeks now , or Classic. Just a reply saying we are too busy would be nice.
I bought the bottom part of a radiator panel from Welding Wood and it was a well made part, quite easy to put together.
Any way I will keep looking and post if I find anything . There must be others in the same situation.
Cheers Peter

The guys above are correct, i've probably done hundreds of bulkheads and never found that bracing them stops any warping.
