Hi all. I'm new to the 110 section of the forum but not new to Landyzone. So Hi.
I'm soon to be moving from the series section to here :D
I've just puchased a 1983 110 V8. Which has sat for quite a while. I got the engine running over the weekend. All the vac lines were disconnected so I hooked up the vac advance and retard to the distributor but I have one more Vac line which I can't place.
It comes off of the inlet manifold riser near the header tank coolant pipe. It's a long vac line with a valve in it and a tag saying "long nut to manifold"
Can anyone tell me where the end of this goes? Can't find anything after a night searching on google.

Sorry can't help with your vacuum line problem but was the 110 by any chance the 'Y' registered one on eBay recently? If so... jammy bastid, I wanted it! :D

The vac pipe on V8 with SU carbs usually goes to the carb not the manifold. I think it's the right one:)

There is a small pipe comes off the front of the manifold and goes to the header tank on some of them as well

Thats the one! :D

Did you go see it? it was a bit of a pain to move off that steep drive! Couldn't get the trailer up there so I had to unhook the trailer on the main road and push it down the slope on a fixed hitch.

Landowner: I'll see if I can get a pic of it. I have ported vac off of the SU to distributor advance. Then I have a vac line from under the carb to the retard on the distributor. But then I have this extra manifold vac pipe. It's directly below the coolant line going to the header tank. It has a bolt in the end of the line at the moment.

Hi.

I have a 1984 110 with the Rover V8. Mine has two hoses and looks like this

As you can see the one for the advance (I think) comes from the left side of the vacuum advance to the inside of the Carb dash pot. What would (I assume) be the vacuum retard (?) leads to the right side of the dashpot on the intake.

Hope it helps (and is the same as mine)

Cheers

Tim

Sweet! No I didn't, I was intending to bid but missed the end of the auction haha.

You should put some pictures up and start a thread, especially if you're planning on doing lots of work to it. Would be good to consolidate all of your queries... and besides, it'd make a good thread! :p

I just re read your post and realized you are looking for #3.....:5bbanghead::5bbanghead:

Ill check in the morning to see what I can find

Its not just a remote breather for that side of the valve is it? I don't have that connection on mine and not seen many dizzys like that.

Thanks for the replies guys.... and the pictures. They've helped. I'm wondering If I have an inlet manifold off of something else. I found a rear manifold gasket sitting loose in the engine bay, one of the carb gaskets is new and the valley pan looks very shiny so someones been in there for some reason.
Timo yours has a blanking plug where mine has the mystery vacuum hose. I managed to get some pics today.

Sorry, I have no idea! I know that we do have different carbs. Let me know if you get this solved
