Can't tell whether the clutch is rusted or not, but the main problem is that the gearbox appears to be missing.

time for an update after sitting idle for 12 years, changed oil, new coolent ,oil filter, carb clean, set points ,checked timing ,fresh gas ,boom fired up no worries ,must say this 5 bearing engine is one of the most smooth and quiet i have worked on . other things done is brake master cylinder ,clutch slave ,and friction plate just some rust to weld up to get back up to roadworthy standards, Drives really well,

rego on hold! seems to be alot of landies over here have dead plates would cost a fortune to re vin and reg in nz, looked at a few on trade me none with rego all over priced! will be used on the road for towing my boat . just needs a few small things for wof nothing major exept rust, any idea on a good welder that would be right for that work i have a 250 gas mig but is just to big for that stuff

40 Years old and they are classed as Classic down here. Cheep licencing fee!
yea cheep reg but hard on gas , im going to keep the green and repaint the hardtop and wheels limestone, passengers side is very straight, drivers not so much ,will need front panel repainted ,

Got myself a cheap mig from trade me. Seller - Top maq. Its a 190amp chinese mig gas or gassless. Still reading how to weld tutorials and burning through wire on test beads. Made the chassis to roll cage brackets ok. Unsure of my weld quality but seems solid.
Save barn seam reasonably priced as well but I guess you get what you pay for as no doubt ill discover

have got myself a small telwin bimax132 mig and am chuffed with the thing was cheap as have beem using 0.8 flux cored wire and gettin good results one patch down 6 to go! pulled the windscreen out to reveal major rust underneath, so started there as will never be seen buy anyone, looks good will post more pics later, also picked up anotha hard top thats mint as mine looks like a bag of ferrits.

I used worn 1500 grade wet&dry to flatten the paint and some rubbing compound to give a slight gloss. That bit is trial and error.
If it has faded in the sun, you may be a bit stuck.

Had a bit of time over the holidays not much hapening at work so have been busey neary finnished just need to bleed the brakes and soort out seatbelts and speedo cable to go for wof really stoked with it ,went down to get a lotto tiket today 10km run no worries at all.
