I am sure the glass ones are nice and original. But I have had lots of Series, and can't remember ever having seen the glass ones.
I guess most of the old ones will have had several changes of lights over the years, I have smashed a few lights myself, and people have just fitted plastic.
When I first started driving Series, they were just old junk, you could buy one for a few hundred quid, and just wanted to keep it going.
In the last few years, they have become collectable classics, prices have risen, and all of a sudden people are asking questions about originality.
I have absolutely no idea what's part of the original vehicle on mine :p

I don't think anybody does. Over 50 years is a long time, and stuff happens.

I would think the glass ones are right, plastics were only just becoming widespread in the 60s.
But as to where to get them in New Zealand, where OP appears to be based, is another matter altogether.
