Hi,
For the last couple of years I have been a named driver on 2 cars ( Not illegal as I live away from home for the majority of the year, and only use them during my holidays from University), but am saving up to buy my own car and insurance policy for this summer.
Having been a named driver on an admiral policy for the last year, I have 1 yrs NCB to use if I use them, and they have said they will insure me on a 1985 90 with a 3.9 V8 for £750, £300 cheaper than if it were a diesel..
A 2000 reg VW caddy 1.9 diesel was going to be £900.
How does it make sense?! The cheapest car to get insurance on is a 90 with a big v8!
