Hi all
Do i need to remove the alternator before unbolting the manifold . i was told it will be £400 supply and fit to get it done but cant afford that so i got the part for £100 and will fit it myself . All help and advice will be much apreciated .

Hi, how did you get on with changing that manifold, i intend to change mine tomorrow and the Haynes manual says you need to move the alternator out the way and also remove the drivebelt (if it has air con) witch mine has. Is this a hard job me and my mate are on level 2 in vehicle maintenance and repair so want to fix it ourselves for experience aswell as saving money, any help/advice would be much appreciated thanks.
Just wanted to add another step for making it easier.
After slackening off the lower alternator bolts and prying it away from the head. You can then remove the top altenator mount, just to give you more room and so you can see easier what your doing.
Just undo the 13mm and 10mm with a spanner. Then slide it off the stud (it will just fit off the end). Makes the job even easier imho.
