Hi guys im 17 and I was wondering what the insurance is like on a freelander 1 also is there many mods for them as I would like to use it for off roading like green laning
With a 3d printer **** easy lol. Depends a working snorkel is easy making it look pretty makes it harder lol. But possible enough
Dont have access to a 3d printer but would some drain pipe do
No point in a snorkel, lots of other things will go wrong before the engine takes a drink!
We do lift kits, guards and other accessories for the FL1
Check you can get insurance for a Freelander, and with mods fitted. Others have been put off Freelanders when they're young due to insurance costs.Well I will want to do a lift first if I find one for sale with good tyres like ats
Insurance isnt too bad on them.
Im 25, 3 years NCB, paying £52/month fully comp for my 2003 K series. I imagine the diesels are cheaper as derv tends to always be a bit cheaper on insurance. Quotes for a disco were slightly cheaper (something like £45/month) but defenders were much higher, probably due to them getting nicked like tramps nick hot chips
Either way, at 17 and being a first time driver, you WILL get utterly raped on insurance, theres just no way around it. My first car when I was 19 was a 0.8l Citroen AX, 4 speed gearbox and top speed of about 50mph, and I was paying about £140 a month to insure it
I would seriously reccomend getting a smaller first car to build up some NCB... most insurers are going to see "17yr old boy" and "giant land rover car" then either laugh as the £££ signs pop up, or just refuse to cover you.
It will be about £1,000 to 2 but I might get a small car now if thet r bad on the insurance and work my way up to a Fl1
