Quick question, I have come across these which say they fit upto a 2006 but is that incorrect based on the advice earlier in this thread??

Thanks bud that's exactly the info I was after and appreciate your honesty. Since finding those I have come across brand new modulars 16x7" in black which I think will be ideal and they ae listed to fit a Freelander. If I bought those then guessing I would have a fair choice of AT tyres that would fit??
Just in case it helps to be sure -
16 Inch X 7 Inch 5-114 Black Modular Wheel For Freelander - 4x4 Tyres
Singvogel - do you have a build thread or diary of mods you have done to yours? Just reading your sig and there is some interesting stuff listed, would be good to have a read.

Could someone do me a quick favour to reassure me -
Found a set of secondhand 16" wheels which are pretty local to me and tentatively agreed a deal on them if I collect today. Could you have a look at item number - 221144997907 and confirm they are suitable for my 2004 TD4 Sport??
Si
They're unlikely to fit.
There are three reasons.
Firstly 235/75s will hit the front suspension spring cups and possibly will foul the rear plastic arch liners. 235/55 is the safe max without spacers, in my opinion to allow tyre flex on cornering, not that will be much flex on those chunky knobbly Kumhos.
Secondly you have a 50/50 chance of them clouting the calipers as they dont say what age of vehickle they came from and i dont see any signs of the dimples which are usually evident on a later 'big brakes' wheel.
These tyres were probably not fitted on those wheels or even on the same vehicle originally anyway and the 'gentlemen of salvage' have just fitted a few big tyres on four rims they had handy as it'ds coming up for winter.
Thirdly, even if you found some spacers and bolted them on - the imbalance in tread depths would mean that you were running the risk of damage to your drivetrain.
Very risky to play Russian Roulette with the IRD and / or VCU and rear diff.
Keep looking mate.
Singvogel.
Morning, the Sport truly is limited when it comes to tyres. In the end I decided to go with these -

Still researching best tyre choice for them.
