I hope your putting pics and write up on it in the members project section would be interesting to see always wanted to build a Landy camper

I’m no much help on the spring situation do they not list max weight on the heavy duty springs

There are some air bags that go inside the springs to aid you. Connected to air compressor. Sorry Forgot the name. Stops sag/roll when towing

Go with the HD springs if it’s always going to be heavy.

Folley 4x4 do a lot of conversions they may be worth a ring?

hd and the helper springs is what ive often fitted for 110 130 that are going to be carrying some weight

You cold wait til it’s finished, then weigh the beast. Make a decision from there.....
I have no personal experience btw. This is just info I’ve picked up watching overland preparation videos etc....
Seems a sensible theory to me.....
I do have some experience of the air bags that fit inside the coil springs though. My brother in law had them fitted on his 6x6 110, which was often loaded up with an IBC full of water, along with various pumps, hoses etc. The air helpers were rather good at getting it level and helping with the body roll....
Pics of your project would be good......
I’d love to see them!

Hi. I have a converted 127 ambulance and initially the body roll was scary. Usual weight is about 3.2 tons, probably well over 3.5 for a trip. I fitted military springs, whilst leaving the original helper springs inside. Part numbers are ANR3540 (Green / Pink stripe-8055kg) to the back and ANR3650 (Red / Orange stripe - 2946kg) to the front. This will probably give some lift too.

For shocks, I have twin shocks front and rear. One terrafirma 'Big bore' on each corner plus a smaller Monroe or somesuch along side it. Cant imagine the big bores need any help - they are huge, but the second one is a back up.

Uprated anti roll bars front and rear (recommended), and standard, not poly, bushes.

The transformation is amazing. Even with such a top heavy vehicle (I try not to put much weight on the roofrack, but nontheless...), the handling is really good, and I can drive with some confidence on windy mountain roads. Before, it was a white knuckle drive, even going round a roundabout!

Hope this helps.

thanks for the reply's,i brought the truck with terrafirma med springs and shocks but no helper springs

daveT thanks very much for those part numbers have you got the helper spring numbers and point me ta a place to buy them

Wow a lot of work there:) it’s going to look nice.

Sorry can’t help with any of your problems/questions, just love to see build threads.

Keep up the work, I am sure the answer to the roof problem is out there somewhere.
Good luck with the project.
You really need to put this all in a separate thread in here so more people can see it.

There was a place in Wiltshire where I saw them chopping roofs off a T5.
Needs To go out on bike & find it.

Or have you tried under cover covers.,
These tailor make canvas based in the midlands

got the canvas made by a crowd in bristol i am researching on how to fit it,my roof pop up is 3mx2m rectangular 500mm pop up on all sides

Hi, no part numbers for the helper springs, sorry. They were there already, and I didn't buy new ones. Good luck with the build, its looking good.

The small diameter helper springs fitted to 130s are RRC3266
I have a 1 ton 127 with these and I reckon it has a better ride than my 110 utility with standard springs.
I would also think about adding a big or 2nd ARB, but wouldn’t worry until you have driven it for a first time.

got my rear springs thanks very much for the info clive T,the springs are massive in comparison to whats on there at the mo,cant find the fronts anywhere so still looking
