Hi guys, not sure how this happened.
12v socket next to the Hi-Lo stick was working fine up until the other day, never had an issue with it.
Stopped working seemingly at random, the green surround bit is missing a piece but can't find it any where. It also pulls out a little now.
Are these known to pop or something? No other way it could've been broken, nothing has hit it.

I know this is a bit of a vague post so any help is appreciated! Cheers.

Does it still work electrically?

If there is a fault physically in the socket, then it may not grip properly whatever you are plugging into it and that may be why it doesn't work electrically, even if there is a feed to it and the earth is OK.

Seems to grip it fine but the actual socket comes out at a slight pull so I think that might be the issue.

Any idea how easy it is to fit a new one?

Have you used a meter to check you are getting both 12v at the positive and a good earth INSIDE the socket?
They can be temperamental sods, I even have an extension one, 4 sockets, two work well, one sort of and the last, not at all!
Ditto the plugs. some will work in one socket and not another, others will work where others won't.
As for getting it out.
Guess what can be found on LZ?!

As they are a push fit, pull out the damaged item and push in a new.

It could be the wiring connector has just fallen off the back of it, I think you can pull the centre console out a bit & have a feel ! P/no is YUJ10037L only £24.96 inc. vat. I just got a universal one for a fiver & fitted that no wiring mods needed.

Cheers for all the help guys, just fixed it! Popped it out and fitted a new Halfords one (had to muck about with one of the connectors as the supplied one was too fat)
I found out the bulb that lights the socket up green had died- probably why the green surround had popped. So I checked the fuse again and notice that it actually was gone so had to change that haha. Must've checked the wrong one. All sorted now!
