I have just bought one and an 8t snatch block. Off to Slinden in few weeks so should get to test out both bits. I asked if they carry spares for it and they said yes. I hope they mean more than a bit of garden hose!

my only concern about it is using it in the winter... What if some water is left in it and it freezes...

will order one early next week when i get paid

you do what you do with your home one..... run it dry for a few seconds

@discodad will do.
Not expecting too much from it. It will be quite a contrast to the 8t PTO superwinch on my Defender!

Quick delivery, arrived yesterday, it's the thick end of 50Kg and looks the part. Hope I have time at the weekend to fit it.

I was looking to get one of those. See they do one with a compressor unit attached.
Would be good if they sold the pressure washer pump or compressor pump separately, could have both then.

I'll be interested to see how it performs.

Cheers

I was looking at the one with the compressor attached for my car trailer, be interested to see how they perform, think it pulls about 5 tons, should be ok for occasional use:)

My thoughts on them were how much juice does it take out of the battery when pressure washing or air compressing? And how long can they be used for?

A winch is notorious for using as much amperage as it can get, the same motor albeit less loaded, might just not be quite up to the job for the fast running of a PW or AC .. we're warned about over-speeding on the motors with a runaway recovery and the need for decent brakes. And if you're running the vehicle motor whilst cleaning the rad, you might also be damaging it slightly .. I dislike pressure washing my rad, I've had bent fins before.

The duty cycle of a winch motor is sometimes not quite what you'd want it to be either .. I know when I jet-wash my Disco at home the pressure washer runs a fast motor for at least 1/2 an hour .. or 2 hours after North Yorks forests!!!! ;)

Just a thought or two ..

I had thought about fitting the washer pump to an alternative 12v motor. Can't see that it's going to need such a big motor although i might be wrong.

It'll be interesting to see how it runs.

Cheers

So far so good. Had to nip off the O/S lamp bracket from the winch bumper. Also it has a small black fly lead from the control box which must be connected to the front earth stud. Else the remotes don't work right. Oh one other thing, had to cut the jet wash gear leaver as it hits the winch bumper.
The jet wash seems to work well. yet to test winch.

being the good friend that I am I will take photos of you washing the V8 after a day's play on Sunday at Slindon so you can post them up. Nope, it is the least I can do. No need to thank me :) p.s. does your wife know about the size of your snatch?

If you use the winch, make sure you don't load it too much on one side of the drum - those winches a terrible for doing that, then it all jams up or bends the metal rods. I'd also recommend moving the electrics box to somewhere a bit safer - finally - the gear box seal is not waterproof - take it off and re-seal it else your gear box will fill up with muck and rust... (can show you pics if you like :/)

Went to Slinden today. Winch worked well. Used it about 3 times. @ Bump, you are right, the cable does pile up on one side. We spent a bit of time winding the cable back in nicely. The winch is a bit slow but have to say it does the job.
Jet wash also worked well. Self prime is a bit hit and miss. I think next time we will take a 12v pump to feed the jet wash. We used 80l of water, but 100l would be better.
@ Bump what pics do you have? Would like to see them.
Will posts some Slinden pics in the next day or 2, showing winch and jet wash in use.
