Can anyone point me in the right direction? The wipers on my 2002 Td5 110 have thrown a wobbler. Fast and normal speed , fine. Intermittent and off position just continue and randomly squeal whilst going into 1 slow motion seeep before parking. Thought it must be the switch on the column so replaced that. No different.
Must be the relay then but on delving down to it realised it was ‘clicking’ and rightly or wrongly decided it must be working so decided it must therefore be the switch on the motor. Changed that…No difference.
It fact it is different now…they don’t switch off at all, unless I put a tiny bit of pressure upwards on the wash wipe lever, the solenoid clicks and they turn off until I reslease the pressure and they start up again. Perhaps it is the solenoid but I’m not sure now what to spend money on next. Any ideas!!??
 
if parking is an issue id change the motor which will come with a new park switch
Not so much a parking problem, rather they now just don’t switch off unless I apply very slight upward pressure to the stick switch on the steering column … although I have replaced that and still does the same!!

you can get faulty new parts all to often,id still look at the motor and park switch though
 
Thanks to Jamesmartin I’ve finally resolved the wiper issues. It was the motor to focus on but I managed not to have to replace it. I dismantled it completely and on doing so noted the wheel was badly lined with the worm drive so simply reshimmed it and now all’s well and smiling again.…until the next drama.
 
My 110 TD5 wipers decided to go mental just before MOT time. Would park from intermittent but stop any where
when switched off from constant. Also turned out to be the park switch on the wiper motor. Got to take a fair few
bits off to get to it though.

Well I got there in the end but what a pulaver (if that’s how you spell it). My problem turned out not to be the switch but rather the raised ramp on the back of the drive cog not activating the switch because it was all misaligned too far one way. God knows how because it always used to work and suddenly decided not to and I’ve never touched it in the 5 years I’ve had it!!
