A 110 is a great tow vehicle, and whilst the 200 tdi/300 tdi engines aren't the most powerful, they should be adequate to pull a caravan. On big hills you'll probably need to drop down to 4th to keep your momentum going, but a tdi in good nick should be able to maintain a decent amount of speed. There are also a couple of tweaks that you can easily apply to the tdi engines that boost their output significantly. They are great engines, and the 110 is a great tow car with loads of space for kids and dogs. Go for it! :D:D

Edit; you could also look into a V8 110, perhaps one that has been converted to LPG? The power output is much higher than a tdi, plus the sound is awesome :)

have travelled in more comfy cars , with more power, less noise, less leaks, more equipment but non can match that undescribable something that defenders have. My 110 has taken me and 6 kids and a dog , 7 bikes, and a trailer full of luggage across europe ( lost my sanity tho- but that wasnt cars fault! ) . Go for it- 110s beat all others hands down

Don't worry about comfort. Kids bloody love Defenders! Its a decent towing vehicle and if you're a trucker, you'll have no issues maintaining a 200/300Tdi.

Is that not a good thing then:confused::confused::confused::confused:

It's a good thing apart from the high initial purchase cost. Coming from a background involving 'normal' cars, you'd expect a tatty 20 year old vehicle to be worth peanuts, but with a Land Rover, they still fetch thousands.

thanks for the quick replys been looking on e bay and autotrader also looking at the dealers MRM AND NENE and a few others thinking of spending around 5000 but not in to much of a rush got to pick the right one
