Only my thoughts,

Why a V8 - Rbbish in anything wet or anywhere anything wet, why spend more on insurance on something that will cost you more to run cause of MPG, and if anyone says they outperform a deisel, think about do they in real terms, if performance is what why buy a Landrover anyway.

Oh yeah and when Veg oil is cheap in the super markets try runing a V8 on that....

Go deisel better for off road, better on your pocket, I know I would rather feel more change in my pocket and a big cock rather then have an empty pocket and feel no dick but beleive that every one thinks that I got a big one cause I got a V8.

V8- Sound better and faster meaning you don't need a 400 metre run up to overtake

It might cost more to insure and more to run but it's fun and in the long run putting it on LPG cuts costs down to less than a diesel

As to off road well I don't know but from what I can gather my mates V8 disco is a lot better off road than mine cos of the increased torque

As to your performance point, maybe people like landrovers but would like to have a faster one ? thus a V8 fits the niche perfectly

And maybe people want no change in their pocket and a big cock and to have the V8 cos its just awesome ? didn't think of that one did you

In my case it's my second landy anyway, my 300tdi is the "economical" one, this is just a toy for racing round fields and hauling dead deer around after a shoot
