Afternoon .
Righto drivetrain issues ..pulled up at a junction ..pulled away and bang ,towed it back home 🏡..it drives in difflock but. Not in normal high low ,front prop just spins away happily ..is it half shaft issue or have i fluffed a transfer box
More pounds notes lol .

As it drives in lock has to be an axle issue. Take it front prop spins when you are stood still?
Most likely broken half shaft in the axle or stub axle, the bit that comes from the CV joint in the swivel ball housing to the wheel hub. Flange splines can also let go
If it were axle diff or the CV itself there would likely be clonking sounds.
To check, jack each front wheel in turn with diff lock in, the one that spins is the duff side.

Righto I've jacked it up .it's in difflock both front wheels turn freely it's also in gear and every now and then front prop jerks

Right I've jacked the bugger up it's in difflock and reverse both wheels spin forwards and the prop jerks now and again ...is it both bloody half shafts lol

Just to be clear, wheels off the ground, each in turn, prop jerks but does not turn when you spin either wheel?

If the propshaft jerks when you turn either wheel - does the opposite wheel do anything?

You what? Better explanation needed.
Right clear head this morning another look at it all the wheels lock up nicely in difflock put it into normal high for road work nothing happens into low it crawls so suspect transfer fluffed on the high side ..it's ratio is 1.211

Possibly one of the centre bearings failing. Lets it slip out of high. Drain the oil and look for lumps.

Said at the start "front prop spins happily" in normal high or low. I presume this was with truck stood still ?

Good point, but within the first 100 miles of LR ownership, my 110 was losing drive at odd times. Putting it into low and high again would get it going. Got another couple of hundred miles out of it thinking it was probably some sort of selecter problem, but actually one of the centre bearings had shed all of its by now square roller bearings.

So you jacked up a single wheel and couldn’t turn it when in diff lock?
Then you did the other on it’s own?

We need to get this straight cos I don’t, from what you have described.

Yes each wheel locked when in difflock and low ratio road use but not in high ratio road use
