Hi gents so got a chassis to fully repair and rebuild however while I'm doing it i have heard of the military heavy duty chassis? Does anyone know the differences? Pictures etc? If not anyone know where the general weak points are for a 110 csw chassis?

From what I can recall, there are no weak points on the chassis and the 110 non military ones are almost the same between CSW, 3 doors, double cabs etc. If there were that many which failed we all would have been on the hunt for new or better ones.

Water can get into to some areas, but apart form that and rust resulting from justifiable reasons, I cant recall any common weak points. I found rust between the gearbox cross-member and the chassis, which again I can expect, but there are no common weak parts IMO of the chassis.

What you are referring to as rebuilding BTW? Is it not better to buy a chassis in good shape?

The chassis isn't the worse I've seen I'm pretty sure it's only going to cost me about £500 for the complicated parts of the chassis and I'm lucky enough to have access to some 2mm steel plate for free. Where as the £2000 + I'd need for a decent chassis is just out of reach budget wise with everything else I need to do!
