Basically we haven't decided a way to sort this out fairly yet.

We have offered the LZ meet out to other clubs and the dilemma is that if they show up and we say right we have 40 places but unfortunately they all went to LZ members then were going to look like a right bunch o tits! :roll eyes:

The same with you guys we don't want to leave you lot out because others have taken the places so other than seeing who turns up on the day and sorting it out from there I'm not sure what were going to do to keep it fair.

Sue, if you could change the title that would be better i feel. Until we have a solution lets keep this as a "hello, yes Id like to go laning please" thread.

Right, please be aware this is a work in progress and as said discussions have not yet reached a difinative answer of how best to sort this out.

Reccies are underway to judge the suitability of lanes but what would really help is if people stepped forward and offered to take some of the routes and offer to lead on the day. So far the max of 30 is an arbitary figure based on what is known of localish lanes and availability of those with the knowledge of them to lead.....This may change if more help is offered.

Due to slightly disappointing ticket sales so far we're speading the advertising further and while I understand the laning is a big attraction it's as an add on to the whole bash so my feeling atm is priority should go to weekend ticket holders.

This is only my opinion and not a decision. Others thoughts are welcome.

If no consensus is reached then the decision will be Accy and Roys in the event the laning is over prescribed.

I dont anticipate that anyone who wants to come purely for the laning and buys a ticket on that basis wont be able to but it was raised as a possibility yesterday and we are still trying to work out how best to deal with it.

I hope that makes things a little clearer.

For what it's worth I'd love to go laning but I'm going to be tied up at the venue and considering this is a once in a decade event I'll go another weekend :)

My view, for what it's worth ..

I'm coming for the weekend, I'd like to go laning 'cos they'll all be new to me, even if probably tame and non-scratchy, so long as they're lanes I'll still enjoy 'em and enjoy the scenery .. but if I can't go laning, well so what?

This weekend, to me is much more of a social thing where we can all get together, shoot the breeze and warm toes on campfires whilst getting merry ..

It'd be good if most people came to it, but hey, if it's small and intimate we'll be more likely to all get to meet everyone there and not stay in our usual little groups, maybe .. :)

Tbh with you guys.... I would rather know before hand that I can go lanin. I know the weekend has other things goin on but as a person that no longer goes lanin often.. gettin to the bash to find out I haven't made a place on the lanin trip when ive put my name onthe list to go will be rather disappointing. :(
My view obviously doesn't speak for my other half.

+ 1:)

I'll be manning the cake and tea and coffee stand and sharing the emergency phone so won't go laning but I'm looking forward to meeting people from the forum.

When I went laning to the lakes I only ended up meeting 4 new people as we were all stopping in different places. ..im really looking forward to this weekend being different ...for me the laning is a bonus :)

if I come, I aint bothered about laning.
meeting, yakking, lounging and a bit of beer drinking would be the intention.

initially really interested, then put off by comments on another thread, then warmed up again, now concerned its gonna be full of pistonheads.

cant commit a decision till later anyway due to personal circumstances.

Personally I dont care one way or another whether there is laning or who goes.

However I was asked to start this thread to try to raise interest and ticket sales amongst folk who rarely leave their own bit of Landyzone.

For that reason, it is totally pointless to have this thread unless people can sign up for a laning trip.

Perhaps this thread should be deleted and only started up again if there is something to attract them to the meet

So far I think it has actually managed to discourage quite a few people and raised questions about what the anniversary meet is about if its not our own members.

you might be right there Sue, Ive not yet decided if im going or not, or if i want to go laning or just get ****ed. I suppose i may well attend and if i feel like laning just see if anyone fancies and plot a route and just take off
