Hello,

I'm in the process of restoring my 109 2a on a budget.

I fancy putting a canvas truck cab on it, so the land rover will actually fit in my garage.

It currently has a hardtop on it with 2 windows on each side, windows in the top curve, vents hatches in the roof, and a second layer of aluminium on the roof.

It's a little tatty, with original paint etc. four holes in the back where some chimp decided to mount trailer lights above the door.

Do these roofs have a special name?

And what would mine be worth?

Many thanks.

I think the double skin roof is known as a 'safari roof'. Photos would help with identification and valuation...

anything like this? got that here, needs a jetwash but in good shape

I think only the Station wagons had alpine windows, safari roofs were an optional extra on other Series'......might've just made that up but it sounds right :)

Don't think so, not on the curve of the roof anyway

you mean the popups? they also stuck on 'normal' ones.

afaik, carawagon is just the name they gave to vehicles they modded, so it's a bit of a catchall depending on customer specs.

Umm.....no. At least I don't think so

What I mean is if the OP has a roof with alpines and a safari it's a SW roof.....prolly :p

Well I paid £10 for a set of 110 defender sides with windows. & sold my solid van sides for £40. So no not a lot really
