Our dear old Land Rover was stolen early this morning around 4,00am.

Very distintive: Grey with white hard top. LWB. 6 cylinder. Very original and distintive.

Reg, 909 UMB.

Stolen from a locked compound in a small village just outside Macclesfield.

If you are offered a LWB 6 cyl series 3 please be aware it might be stolen.

We would like it back, my father bought it new and he died of cancer recently & we have a lot of happy memories associated with the LR.

I am trying social media. They have been caught on CCTV. I'm hoping that old grey has not been broken for spares already and the Police think it was a local job. Either it or parts are bound to appear at some point. So please keep a look out and be vigilant when buying. There are a huge number of identifying marks and panels on this particular LR from 40 years use. Our series 3 was part of the family so it is rather like a family pet being stolen.

6 cylinders are a bit rare. Can you put up more pic's of the identifying dents etc. Also pic's of the front and sides. This one may stand out a bit from others.

So sorry to hear your news, especially as I had an ex-AA 6 pot safari from the same year back in the 'eighties & know how rare the breed is. Mine was a real goer as I'd retrofitted a P5 engine (complete with Weslake head) & with a Fairey o/d it was good for indecent speeds.
I do so hope it's recovered intact.

We've now had well over 1 million views on Facebook. The word is spreading!
Someone recently did a media campaign when their LR was stolen and it worked - a member of the public spotted it. I would have thought it is well worth trying if you haven't already - saturate every FB account, local 4x4 groups, local radio and newspapers. You could offer a reward for info. It's so distinctive. It might also be worth putting a piece in LR magazines. I really hope you get it back.

Well, if any non-tracking device equipped Land Rover is going to get found it’s this one.
I hope you get it back, l doubt an old one like that would be stripped down more likely dumped somewhere (hopefully not in a container bound for Africa)

We've now reached over 2 million on our Land Rover facebook post, Granada Reports, Classic Car Weekly, local papers, Twitter, etc. This is probably the most talked about Land Rover in the country at the moment. We think there is a fair chance it is still in the local area, please keep looking and if you are offered a 109 6 cylinder or associated parts please be alert. Long shot I know, but we want our 109 back.
