Our themostat has been stuck open for some time and we've grown used to all that implies. Coolant never getting to temperature, weak cabin heater, etc. Want it rectified but seems to be a bugger of a job to replace the existing one on a TD4. I mean, who has a set of ratcheting torx spanners lying around?
I just happen to have an 1.8 petrol inline thermostat housing with 'stat fitted gathering dust in the garage (I believe the grey ones are 86 degrees). How mental is it to expect I can fit this somewhere near the output from the block and remedy me woes?
