Hey i think the last owner has put fuses in wrong and missed out one thats why my motor is in limp mpde and it wont read on obd can any one show me a pic of there 1.8 petrol please

Post a picture of what you think is wrong.
I don't know a particular fuse that would directly affect engine performance. The 1.8 ECU doesn't have a limp mode anyway. It either works or it doesn't. Only external factors can affect performance directly. Things like plug, coils, fuel pump and injectors can affect the running, if one is faulty.

So the car had its fuses removed by the police after it had an attempted theft the guy i got it from thought he had out them back. My mechanic cant plug it into the dignostic it wont accept or recognise the laptop to dignose.

The only issue is decent light and the linkage apart from that the mechanic says its in limp mode it wont steady revs over 2.5k after a min of running there are a couple of fuses missing wonder if that would power the dignostic part

I suggest you find a mechanic who knows what he is talking about. The Freelander 1.8 ECU doesn't have a limp mode, or any other form of limited operating strategy. Besides if it were in limp mode, the MIL would be on.

The HDC light could be something simple like the throttle cable set wrong. But it could also be a gearbox switch faulty.

Your lack of power above 2.5K could be.
Plugs, coils, HT leads, fuel pump, fuel filter, air filter clogged and possibly even cam timing incorrect. It won't be limp mode because it doesn't have it.

is that for the diesel or for the petrol I have seen so many but all different :( the police removed fuses from the car when it was nearly nicked not sure there all back how they should be lol

I can take a picture of my 2001 FL1 1.8 when I get home, but I think you should be able to find a page in the RAVE manual on line that will provide the correct fuse values for each of the slots :)

havnt got a manuel yet :( waiting for a Haynes book to come lol old owner gave me three bits of paper not very bloody useful! thanks if you can that be amazing!

I mentioned this in a previous post. It needs to be pretty slack at the throttle body or HDC the light comes on at 5-10 mph but has no effect on performance. Having said that on one of my K series cars I never discovered the issue and ended up taking out the dash and blanking off the light with a bit of black tape.
As for lack of power, have you checked the timing?

I have checked a few bits now fuel pump- all filters changed- injector cleaner in there but looking at the fuses I think im missing three! the pics above are they diesel or petrol?
