Afternoon all! New member so please treat gently ....

I have just purchased my first Land Rover vehicle, a L322 05 reg Range Rover SC in superb condition and low mileage for its age and unsurprisingly I’m enjoying the vehicle a lot. Although both the inside and outside of the vehicle are in great condition I have found one or two niggles that I need some advice on and hopefully the members on this forum will be able to provide some help. This may be the first of a few posts.

I have the OEM rear seat entertainment in the headrests, unfortunately though I have not been able to get these to work. I have gone through all the fuses in both the front and rear box and also checked all the plugs on the RSE module on the rear right side of the vehicle. All seems correct….. When trying to access the rear screens from the main touch (supervisor) screen I can scroll though the options to select the rear screens and the input source (dvd, tv etc) but nothing shows on the screens. In fact the screens themselves do not appear to be powering up at all……..my suspicions are therefore that the power supply to these units is where my issue is.

The vehicle had been valeted when I picked it up, including under the front seats (which were spotless) and I am now wondering if during this process a power connector was knocked loose under one or both of the seats? I am therefore looking for any advice on how power reaches the DVD headrests and how these are connected under the seats. Can anyone tell me if a single power feed supplies both the left and right headrest (I think I read somewhere that both were supplied from under the drivers seat?) and where I might find this under the seats.

I’m struggling to find any real information on the wider Web and was hoping that someone on this forum may have had a similar issue or maybe have replaced their DVD headrest or seat(s) in the past and may be able to provide some helpful advice. I'm hoping it’s a simple connection rather than the RSE module and although they probably won’t get much use, I’d like to get the headrest screens working again if possible.

Thanks and any advice gratefully received!

Paul

When it was valeted, did they steam clean the interior? If they did, you may be entering a world of pain.
If you bought it from a dealer, take it back, they should fix it, it's their responsibility.

there is a power on/off button in the centre light cluster by the interior rear view mirror. this controls power to the RSE.

Dolphinboy,

Thanks for the reply, I'm not seeing any power button on the interior cluster as you suggest? Are we looking at the same item?

Hi. I guess your 55 model is the Ford based RR. My 04 4.4 has a factory fitted DVD with screens in headset. They have no on/off switch just point the remote and on they come. Same can't be said for the DVD player though. I think the IR receiver on the rear view mirror is broke
