Hello all,

This is probably a stupid question but.....

My hand brake shoes fell to pieces making a nasty rubbing noise, so set about changing rear discs pads and hand brake shoes.

New Brembo disc supplied by Euro are 12mm thick solids, the ones I took off are 22mm externally vented. This just doesn't seem right. Holes ect are all right but they seem very thin and the pads seem to have an awful lot of travel on them. Part number is 08.8554.21 and say Landover on them.

I looked at a few sites and they all seem to state 12mm thick is right.

Anybody else think they are wrong?

Thanks

Check your VIN my 05 plate is solid disc to VIN 5A999999, vented is from 6A000001. It's on Eurocrapparts but no pic for the solid disc.

from 6A000001

Don’t sound right.
Ours are vented but that’s 2011.
Some adds say up to 05 vented/solid so was obviously either a crossover in design or model type.
You don’t say what model you have.

I would send them back and get vented 1s.

Thanks Freelance,

Was looking at that whilst pondering today, they have rubber gaters on them, do they come off easily and is there likely to be crap behind them?

Thanks Freelance

To be fair the pads weren't that bad nor the discs, just thought as I was stripping it all down would replace everything.

I think @Saint.V8 did a how to have a look in the Technical archive. Knowing Eurocrap parts the discs are probably for a Fiat Punto. The son in law stopped using them after he had a ramp blocked for a whole day after wrong parts being sent FIVE times in a day.:mad:
