I have a 03 Discovery, when I lock it with the remote about 10 seconds or so later the alarm goes off.

If I lock it by putting the key it the drivers door and turning the lock it does not.

Anyone had this problem or can point me in the right direction?

That points to an iffy ultrasonic sensor, as u know that item is isolated when locking with the key.

Thanks for the reply, I was wondering if it might be one of them. Is there anyway to identify which one has the problem, or just trial and error

Only by unclipping and pulling the plug one at a time, so just trial and error.

^^^ +1...or via nanocom or other proper tester... you can also disable the volumetric sensors this way

had this problem with mine due to a water leak from the sun roof.
removed the ultrasonic sensors and took them apart cleaned the circuit boards carefully with a toothbrusk to remove the corosion .reffitted and they worked
try its a free tip

I unclipped the passenger side sensor today and it locked with the remote ok.

The disco has had the sun roof leak which I have not got around to looking at yet

I will have a look at the sensor tomorrow to see if there is any corrosion
