hello
my first post here so hello to all
a huge thank you to all who contributed to the previous threads regards loss of power on a 02 plate TD4 92k at around 70mph/3000prm
i had just started to exprience exactly the same syptoms almost word for word of previous posts, after reading and reading the advise led me in the direction of the deprssion valve filter, i changed this, cost of about £26, easy to do
for the first day everything was fine, but then the problem got worse, loss of power after coming off the excelerator and then going back on it, as if someone had pulled out in front of you, persevered and eventually the problem got less and less and now the car is as good as new, took about 800miles.
the old filter felt as if it weighed almost twice that of the new one, oil sludge i guess, and i guess that was what caused the problem to get worse once it had shifted probaly into the turbo.
when i got the part from the dealership i dicussed the sypmtoms i was having and he said that the filter is now changed at every 24k intervals and since doing so about 2 years ago they have seen very few blown turbos coming in, so i would advise anyone who has a TD4 and has never had the filter changed to do so before it effects the turbo and costs much more than £26
thanks again all and sorry i went on a bit
