My 02 range rover battery keeps going flat! 2nd new battery! new alternator, had drop check done, apparently no drain? parked up sat evening went to start it tues flat as a f**t, the aa have even checked it out and say they can't see what's wrong, but the battery is taking a drain from somewhere, it should last way longer than 2 days! I'm at my wits end with this one has anyone got any ideas, by the way i had a trickle charger on it yesterday 22nd, battery was reading 11.83v on the meter, charger was pushing out 21v, tried it this morning, not enough power to operate key fob, no alarm light flashing on dash board! can anyone Help!!

Do you have a satellite tracking unit in your rangie? If you do, this could be the cause, we had this issue on our Audi, flat battery of the tracking unit was draining the main battery.

Else, you may want to enlist the help of an auto electrician to help diagnose where the leak is coming from.

Yeah i do, but did a drop check with the aa bloke and watched the sat nav shut down on his meter, it stays active for just over a minute then goes to sleep!

If your charger is putting out 21 volts be careful you don't blow something. Sure it's not just a crap battery? 11.83 volts is dead:eek:
Disconnect the battery, charge for 24 hours, remove charger leave for 30 minutes, should read around 12.8 volts, if yes put a load test on it and see what it drops to, you can use the car for this to get a rough idea, just switch everything you can on without starting the engine.
I assume it's an L322?

21v is far too much, double check this .I would charge the battery then check the charge rate. You could be cooking the battery if it is charging so high. BMW had lots of problems with the final stage resistor which has been also mentioned. It's fairly simple to get to, try removing it overnight. BMW did do a temp fix when we attended them roadside we told to turn on the vehicle, leave it on for a minute then turn it back off without touching the heater controls. Not sure if it worked but never got called out to the same car twice.
