OK, As I see it I can get a 94-98 TDI disco for £1500 or a 88-90 diesel 110.

The Disco is probably the more sensible/practical choice, but I just love the look of the 110.

Any suggestions where I would be better spending my hard earned ?

110 for me.:)

This would have to be my day to day vehicle. Would the standard kit diesel 110 be OK at motorway speeds, or are we talking a series III type experience

As long as you know youre way round a motor and can weld/got friend who can,you can get something with relativly minor problems for less ,I picked up my 94 200tdi disco for 250. It seems to cost about the same each year to get through mot. For 1500 I would expect a good one but to many people think shiney paint and a few goodies make it good . dont get suckerd there is a lot of **** out there that people are asking silly money for

I've had a Disco before, one of the few that was absolutely rust free, but I've read enough on here to know exactly where they do go.

1500 quid will get you a really tidy disco or a heap of old ****e 110. Trouble is with discos they can be a bitch to repair once the old tinworm has got hold of em. a 110 will rust but at least all the bits are accessable and relatively easy to fix.

Have misplaced V5 so have applied for replacement, will post on to winner

i'd be careful no part with cash til papers all sorted

I might have a bid on that if I was looking for one. Looks nice. Don't know nuffink about the Die-hat-sue enjin though, maybe that's why it's so cheap??

i think its funny, sold as seen but bought on ebay, i take it you havent been and had a look at it so if you won it it would be 'bought but not seen'

eBay is always sold as seen, but you can still have a viewing if you are so inclined though.

yes but its a bit hard now seeing as there is only 20 mins left for it to run, also i would be carefull with anything that does not have the original engine in it as there are some relly bad conversions done and also you may have trouble getting insurance without a engineers report. just food for thought really.
