Hi all, just a quick question, my landy wouldn't start today and I have narrowed it down to bad earth from engine to chassis. The problem is I cannot find where it is, I know I can easily run a new earth but would like to check the existing for peace of mind. Can anyone please enlighten me.
Thanks

It should go from the engine block to the chassis. If it's there it will be very easy to spot as it's as fat as a battery lead.

what motor have you got? my n/a's strap was down near the starter motor on the n/s of the engine bay, down low.

I had a look early this morning (by torch) and found what could possibly the connection on the n/side engine mounting, there was no wire connected and if there was it has been missing for some time. I guess it has been picking up the earth from some where else and by changing the gearbox a couple of days ago the earthing that it was using has been lost.
I will fit a new earth strap this weekend.
Thanks to all

You've been lucky it usually uses the handbrake cable as an earth. which then melts. I just had to rewire half my mates disco after his did this and shorted & melted half his wiring loom.
