Morning all,

This place has been an amazing source of help and info for years for me but I’ve never got round to signing up.

I live in Oxfordshire and have had a few defenders of various shapes and sizes. Now I’m taking on a ground up build of a 88’ 110 V8. Only had 200/300s before so I’ll certainly be asking plenty of questions now!

If there’s anyone local who’s got a 3.5 v8 it would be great to have a look at a running set up in exchange for tea, biscuits, beer.

Cheers for all the anonymous help previously and everything else going forward.

Cheers, Rich

Hi and welcome!

Don’t forget to post some pics of the Landy! We like pics, and V8’s…. A V8 90 CSW is the one Landy I regret ever selling…

Morning all,

Top end of the v8 looked a bit rough so I've had that all out and rebuilt that, got a different gearbox has the previous wouldn't marry up so now I'm looking at getting the thing running.

Spins lovely on the starter with a screwdriver but it would be nice to have the luxury of a key and ignition switch!

So my question is does anyone have a basic wiring diagram for an 83-85 rover v8 3.5. Now air con nothing clever or ancillaries just enough to get the thing sparking so just can start timing etc etc.

I've got a new electronic dizzy, new coil, starter relay. Am just missing anything obvious apart from which wires go where?

I've got a decent idea but no previous wiring to go on, just don't want to cook a new coil or damage the dizzy if I do something silly.

Cheers

Welcome :).

Looking great so far. As above most manuals available online to help mostly free.
Techy questions always get a better responce in the right section as not all peeps look in this section.

And +1 on the members rebuild section:).

Nice motor. Is that a stumpy r380 gear box?

Can’t help with the engine wiring but all the looms were the same. The v8 engine loom plugs in to the main loom.

Have you got any looms? Fuse box etc
