Bin hot and dry today.
waited in on deliveries this morn, while I cut a load more weeds and W played in the poly tunnel, clearing all the dead stuff from last year.
Delivery 1 was a load of bangers and bacon from a special butcher who does it the British way. Luvly jubly!!
Delivery 2 was a load of stuff for the dogs. As we do each year.
So we could go of to take W to her hairdresser, she no longer goes to a Brit one. Tinting out the grey pluas the wash cut and blow dry took a while so we only "rentered" at about 6 pm. After a trip to the local plant purveyor. He has poly tunnel after polytunnel full of everything you could want, to say nothing of the stuff outside.
So, €200 later we have 9 x 70 litre bags of "terreau" and a load of veg plants.
Just about to sit down to a pea and ham risotto.

Snails I don't like, too gamey for me. And the frogs'LEGS ( not the whole froggies) you in fact shallow fry. BUT I'd imagine would be fine deep fried especially in batter. Must try that someday!!!

Evenin' (well, night...)
I was going to say greetings from Portugal but have this annoying habit of not writing things while they are still relevant. So having completed fitting a shower door there we're back in Spain now. Weather dull and cold, drizzle tonight.
The power cut on Monday was fun. It went out and I didn't think much of it because we've had brief power cuts most mornings lately so didn't seem unusual. By the time the UPS ran out I was a bit peeved and Mrs was thinking of phoning the electricity people, I had changed to 4G and looked at usual news, said to Mrs don't bother phoning, the live feed says the whole of Spain and Portugal is out!
Eventually 4G went to 3G then 'emergency calls only', luckily what I was planning doing all day involved cordless drill with 2 charged up batteries. Power still out and unfortunately the small generator is FUBAR and the big diesel one needs the injectors looking at so later it was (gas) cooking and eating by candle light. The big town on the mountain behind us was still out at midnight which always suggests in for the long haul, although the mobile signal was better from that direction. Refreshed the news and went back to the house and read that until bed.
So an interesting day. Power back on 4:30am Tuesday.
