Struggling to remove either of the top bolts on my steering shaft. I’ve tried force, fire, WD40. Any wise words from anyone on what to try next?

Is it the top ones in your photos your talking about ? Did you wire brush them then spray with penetrating oil or something ??

I haven’t wire brushed them as I can’t find it. Will grab one in the morning if I have no other luck.

And you need to free both ends of both joints to swap either or both.

Bottoms ones came out nicely. Just the top to do.

If it comes to it, split the nut with a good quality sharp chisel.

I reckon you could tighten it up until it snaps if you really can't undo it.

Ended up using a combination of the angle grinder, cutting disk, lump hammer and crowbar to get the bloody thing out.
