Hi
I'm currently messing around with a TD5 defender that has been stood for a number of years due to it not starting (or firing) because of a fuel issue. I've powered it up and the pump runs and delivers fuel up to the regulator on the head. I've had a look at the ECU and there is some oil on the red plug so I'm guessing it's going to need a new injector harness and recon ECU but before I go down that route is there anything I can or should check to confirm that? Unfortunately I don't have a code reader so is there anything that can be checked with a multimeter?
TIA

You could sent the ecu to be tested.
Injector loom isn't a great deal of money.
Somewhere along the line you will need to buy a suitable scanning tool so you may aswell buy it now.

Thanks for the reply Anaconda. I've got a 2014 puma plus a an L322 that I'll need a diagnostic tool for to include key coding so is there a particular brand that is worth looking at other than Icarsoft?

If you want one to have reliable engine management coverage for the Td5 too then you need a Hawkeye Total ... no other LR multivehicle tool would work well with the Td5 EMS that's verified, Icarsoft is the worst of all from it's cathegory Foxwell NT530 (or 520 or 510 Elite) is better
