Hello everyone, I have run a diagnostic test on my 07 freelander 2. 2.2ltr, two codes have come up no.1 p0098-00 Intake air temperature sensor 2 circuit high input (permanent)
No2. P0198-00 engine oil temperature sensor circuit high input (permanent) I have recently acquired the vehicle and I have just replaced the clutch/flywheel. I do not know if these codes were there before the work, does (permanent) indicate bad sensors or could it be a wiring problem, the puter will not clear these particular codes

A high sensor normally means either it's unplugged, so the voltage is high, or a wire it is damaged. There are 2 intake temperature sensors, one as part of the MAF, and another on the intake by the throttle body.
There's no oil temperature sensor on this engine, as far as I know.

Cured it, air temp was loose connection to the sensor tucked up behind the throttle intake, the oil does indeed have an oil temp sensor price @ £175+ it is located at the front just below the starter motor, luckily again, a loose connection, but a fiddly bugger to do due to lack of space. replacement requires the starter to be removed in order to fully withdraw the long temp probe out of the engine
