I don't know if they will physically fit, but I do know that they will have a negative impact on your fuel consumption and the speedo and mileometer will read almost 2%low.

So when the speedo says you are doing 60mph you will actually be doing near to 62 mph. Not a big difference, but worth remembering in camera-laden England.

Do a search there's a thread somewhere with a link telling what tyre sizes fit and if any mods are needed. There's also another that tells you what % change it causes to your speedo.

I have got 245/75 r16 on mine. Mine fit fine but sum require 'camel cut' I guess it depends on the tolerance stack up of a few things when the car was made. In terms of the speedo, it is actually spot on now with the new tyres, before, like most cars, it was reading low.
245/70 I think are only 14mm larger radius than 235/70s that are fitted as standard on a lot.
