Noting western slopes comments, I did read elsewhere the USA nose weight recommendations for many vehicles are much heavier than those for europe.
Unfortunately the article didn't say why.

Nor Australia. Nose weights and towing weights are higher in many countries outside the restrictive EU, I believe max towing weight for a P38 in some countries is 5,500 kilos.

Max towing weight is of no consequence it is how much weight is loaded onto the rear air suspension. I cannot see the nose weight being much different anywhere. Having said that i find the max nose weight in the USA for a P38 is 550 pounds or 250 Kg. 100 Kg higher than in the UK.

Surley à correctly balanced trailor/load should keep the nose weight within its limits. The tow bar we fitted to mukiwas Q7 yesterday was a 140kg limit. The frame that was bolted to the car was as strong a the subfrsmes underneath the car.. I don't do much towing at all could be wrong?
