I need to arrange collection of a vcu unit, anyone know how much they weigh with the bearings tia

I would never have guessed they were that heavy. No wonder fitting them makes my arms ache.

That was the refurbed one that completely seized and I posted it back to Bell. Apparently the needle roller bearing had locked up.

The vcu and bearings is 9kg on it's own. Yer must be thinking of the weight of the props with it to get to 30kg.

My apologies. I sent TWO heavy parcels around that time, and I looked up the wrong receipt.

Weight of the VCU parcel was 14kg.

Just put a spare VCU on scales (with bearings) 12.7 kg. For reference, cos I posted one the IRD is 30 Kg !!!!

Also - when placing it back into position (even with the help of a jack), it feels about 30 Tonnes !

If it’s any help, you can get a good deal for posting heavy stuff on interparcel.com. Like a comparison site for couriers.

It cost me £12.24 to get the VCU picked up from my house in Inverness (Highlands) and delivered to Bewdley using Parcelforce express 24. I thought that was pretty good. I didn’t even have to print out a label.

Yes damper on. We has nothing else to do but weigh our VCUs !! Should be Land Rover.....one life now go and get one !!
