What! Doesn't one have a drive with under floor heating?I'm a bit long in the tooth to be man handling a tank on my back in the wet. TBH rr is pretty tatty anyway so cutting a hole is the most attractive option.
I wish. And I saw the stick from other members to do the job properly! So yes I'm sticking my next out here ....
Perhaps you could record the measurements for posterity. Thanks Pete, those pics are good enough.
I found this page on the net with plenty of photos but no measurements - but it may be enough for you.

You may have a slight amount of trouble getting a flat cover and gasket to fit on a convoluted floor.Worth thinking about the Discovery 2 cover and gasket that goes over the hole in the boot floor, I'll check parts numbers in the morning, I've got new parts for my other D2 V8.

Bit of quicksteel and some fettling. Bit nasty if it is sticking out into the load space with the seats forward though. Is it further forward?
Mine showed empty on the gauge and still had 7 gallons in itAs long as the fuel level is low the tank is very light. It is only plastic. Doesn't take that long to drop.
Mine showed empty on the gauge and still had 7 gallons in itbit of a bugger with that sloshing about.
