Come on you T*O*S*S*E*Rs and anyone else who fancies giving something back.
I've started a new thread for this, the details are:
The date of the next National Green Lane Day (NGLD) is Sunday the 28th of
October. The target in Hampshire will be Colemore & Priors Dean 18 which is
a few miles northwest of Petersfield (map reference SU 705306 to SU 712305).
The lane is a BOAT and has full vehicular rights, it is about 2/5 mile long
and is overgrown for its entire length. I have surveyed the lane, by both
walking and driving it; neither was a pleasant experience and the scratches
from the latter will require a considerable quantity of T-Cut to remove.
The work will be undertaken as a Hampshire Paths Partnership (HPP) project
and will be fully covered by the Council's insurance. Tools, protective
clothing and instruction will be provided. A risk assessment has been
undertaken and qualified first aiders will be in attendance.
There is a fair amount of work to do on this lane and I would be grateful
for any support that you can provide. There is no need to turn up for the
entire day and even if only an hour or two can be spared this will be
appreciated. As always, families, children and dogs are especially welcome!
Feel free to bring your own tools but no motorised ones please as our
insurance does not cover us for their use.
We will be meeting at 10:00 at the west end of the lane in time honoured
fashion for the health and safety brief and work day instructions. For
those based in the Portsmouth area we will be meeting at 09:15 in the
Morrison's car park at Cowplain for an 09:30 departure to the lane. Don't
forget that the clocks go back on Saturday the 27th!
There'll be similar events all across the country so anyone anywhere else should contact GLASS & their local rep for details.
Can anyone who's coming to the Hampshire one give me a shout/PM & we'll set up a meet/convoy.............for which read 'whole bunch of people willing to tow the Dibnah'.
