I have these fitted to my Discovery (2003 model)
You need Range Rover wheel nuts and a spigot ring to make up the difference in hub diameters.

Improved on-road handling for a start.
18" wheels are standard Discovery TD5 fitments on high spec models, while the Discovery 3 has 20" on it's similar models.

because although landrover spends however much on developing the suspension of their off road vehicles, they just can't get it right. so what you do is bung some boy racer tyres on, that way you can negoiate the roundabout outside tesco at a faster speed.
the introduction of ultra low profile tyres in effect stiffens the suspension with not a thought to what stressessss are now being put onto the other parts of the suspension.
much the same as putting wheel spacers on. they increase yer track but put a shed load more strain on yer wheel bearings..
or a lift kit, we all know what they do fer yer uj's..
so wot went rong wiv the Gaylander then Slob - gazillions spent - total ****-up!
there always one that goes wrong.. bmw had the Z1
ford on the other hand got one right .;the lancia stratos
and the '40 - of course
actually the only thing they really did wrong was in not recalling them when it became clear it had more problems than a council housing estate..
remember that semi-auto thing renault brought out? it disappeared when they realised they couldn't get it to work as well as the eyeties that developed it.

my 2001 td5 ES came with 18" alloys as standard (255/55R18 Goodyear Wranglers) and over the past 1300 miles of driving it , at times the ride does seem a bit harsher than i would have expected - great cruising on motorways etc , just on pot-holed back roads you seem to feel the bumps more at speed
Don't think i'd want to drive around with 20" wheels
why the hell would you want low profile tyres on a 4x4 off-roader? - saw one of them mercedes ml55's the other day - all pimped up with chrome & spinners - low profile tyres with about 1" of rubber between wheel & road!! blasting out bangra music from his 1 million watt subwoofer

Got to agree with you there, mine also came with the 18" alloys on, can't really see the point.
It's bloody useless off road compared to my mates with 16's on it, and my tyre choices seem very limited (unless anyone can suggest different)
20" wheels? would you be blacking the windows out (**** glass as it's know round here) and fitting all the extra 'bling' innit?
Slob was that a 'jack up' or a 'jack off' kit?
