Just took it for a spin guys, all seems okay. Locking over no problem at all. Driving straight etc. Shall i leave it be?

you really need to check pas box is central when road wheels are

crawl under the steering box and you'll notice a notch in the drop arm.

there's another notch or hole on the steering box, when the arms a bit off centre. stick a screwdriver in and make sure these notches are aligned... that's centre.

now adjust your wheel again until straight.

Just gone under the landy. The notch/cut out in the back of the drop arm, lines up exactly with a hole on the steering box. So as you say, does this mean its all lined up correctly?

yup. in that position adjust the steering wheel so it's straight.

then if needed adjust the drag link so the wheels are straight.

that's it.

Seems as you have just changed your drop arm - maybe you can help me!! Is the 34mm nut a normal thread or a left hand thread?? Just had a power bar with a 2 foot extension and still cant get it to budge??

Normal thread, but it is quite tight. 130 ft/lbs in LR manual!

Well 130 ft/lbs means nothing to me, but I presume that must be quite a lot. Plus the god knows how many years of rust added to it. Think I best put some more effort into it, or find a friend with bigger muscles than I have got

Tried some wd40 and is the tab washer tapped back enough?

Got the bugger now. Power bar with a 3 foot extension bar and me hanging all my weight off it and it just cracked and left me flat on my back with a bashed elbow and a very quick look around the neighbours windows to make sure no one had seen me make a knob of myself

Take care of that elbow, my Dad chipped his left one when the deckchair he was sitting in split, we roared with laughter ... till we found out he had trouble driving home, (we had no power steering back then) ...
