Picked it up on friday bit of an event getting it home very little gas and petrol guage the wrong side of the red box, stopped at the nearest petrol station no gas could only get £10 of petrol in it kept shutting of so tried trickling it in at least it had a tenner in it, so set off on the 30 odd mile journey home the good wifey following behind, 3 mile in all going well still running on gas suddenly a banging rattling from underneath(thought a gas tank had fell off and dragging along the floor) pulled over looked underneath both tanks still in place could'nt see anything obvious gave o/s/r wheel a good shake as thats were the noise seemed to be coming from but again nothing obvious:confused: gets going again still the noise persisted stopped again half on a kerb to have a good look underneath noticed o/s/r shock look low bottom mount rotted off:eek: into the boot of the wifes car and 3 cable ties later back under way at a much reduced speed gas ran out after about 20 miles swiched to petrol no prob gets close to home thought i'll put more petol in at the local garage it took £1.71 very strange gets home orders the new shock bottom mounts and 2 new shock then checks the petrol tank it was full well pleased:dance:.

Get a feel for how this forum works before spiiting your dummy out.

Go back outside, put on yer rhino skin coat (and yer trakkie bottoms;):D) and then come in and have a proper look around. This forum is 80% **** taking and banter and 20% help. Swearing/bad language is not allowed outside of anything goes either. Please watch yer potty mouth outside of these areas

Hello all,

im Geoff a scouser living in Crewe at the mo,

I love Ford Capri's got an 1981 3ltr S just bought my first Land Rover, a 91 Range Rover Classic 3.9 vogue

tested till feb tax aug with gas conversion cost me £550(oh what have i done).

Picked it up on friday bit of an event getting it home very little gas and petrol guage the wrong side of the red box,

stopped at the nearest petrol station no gas could only get £10 of petrol in it kept shutting of so tried trickling it in at least it had a tenner in it, so set off on the 30 odd mile journey home the good wifey following behind, 3 mile in all going well still running on gas

suddenly a banging rattling from underneath(thought a gas tank had fell off and dragging along the floor) pulled over looked underneath both tanks still in place could'nt see anything obvious

gave o/s/r wheel a good shake as thats were the noise seemed to be coming from but again nothing obvious:confused:

gets going again still the noise persisted

stopped again half on a kerb to have a good look underneath noticed o/s/r shock look low bottom mount rotted off:eek:

into the boot of the wifes car and 3 cable ties later back under way at a much reduced speed

gas ran out after about 20 miles swiched to petrol no prob gets close to home thought i'll put more petol in at the local garage it took £1.71 very strange

gets home orders the new shock bottom mounts and 2 new shock then checks the petrol tank it was full well pleased:dance:.

Condition:- some dodgey welding been done on inner wings bit of welding under o/s/r arch new drivers side doors req and a good clean but drives mint all in all well chuffed with it and a full tank of petrol as well bargain looking forward to getting stuck in to it new inner wings next:D.

It did read much like a scouser talks........................flat out with no pause for breath :p:D

Much prefer boomer version myself - mickey taking yes, but not good for a second post - still it takes all kinds - I'm quite happy to be an old git
