Im sorting out the wires no longer needed in my disco... but i have a connector i cannot identify!

it goes to the rear end some where

Could be wrong but it looks very much like the plug you plug the loom in to when you fit a towing socket.

The 7-way RISTS connector is for the 12N towing electrics to plug into.

The adjacent Purple wire with female bullet connector, is a permanent fused live, which is used in the 12S caravan electrics socket (also, a handy feed for a power socket in the luggage compartment :) )

The other, Green/Brown trace wire with female bullet connector, is the reversing lights feed, also used for the 12S towing connector (handy for reverse sensors, or to trigger a relay for additional reverse lamps)

The Discovery 1 is full of redundant plugs and connectors.
I must have the best part of a dozen under the bonnet!
 
I asked the same question but mine were hidden with the rear near side light sockets nice I can use as a extra power supply in the back ill look into that cheers
