Well, don't come and leave in JAPAN then!

A Brand new L322 entry level V8 HSE (We do not have Diesel) cost in Japan 12,2 Million yen or £97,759, by comparison in the UK the only one that comes with a V8 is the Autobiography and it is sold at £86,895.00 !!!!
In the US the very same V8 HSE cost $80,275 USD or... 6.3 Million Yen or £51,071.... In Japan at that price (6.3M Yen) you only have the entry level Disco4 or RR Sport.

Now just for fun a set of four Ball Joint for P38 in the UK will cost you (without shipping) around £50... in Japan... £800 at the cheapest!

Air Suspension for P38, set of four in Japan at Range Rover cost (without installation) £2,800...

You can't imagine how lucky you are guys to be in the UK or US when it comes to buy or fix your car...

Next time I am flying to Narita I will let you know. I have hand carried all manner of car parts for friends over the years just so they can have access to better prices.

That is because Japan impose unfair import tariffs to protect their market.

Of course they are, they are supercars after all.

Like saying an Aston Martin is pretty high compared to most cars, or even a range rover...

Sorry I was not clear, All GT-R (R32, R33, R34, R35) still have in Japan a very high price tag or Value (2nd hand market).

In Japan if you want to buy a car there are two scenarios when it comes to Price/Value.

1. Brand new = Buy a Japanese Car.
2. 2nd Hand = Buy a Foreign car.

An example. A Friend of mine bought a 2nd hand Audi S4 from AUDI with 2 year warranty still available on the initial 3 years and just 3500km. Brand new the S4 was announced at around £64,000, he bought it at around £50,000.

Not always, for example a Canon 5D MK III is £560 more expensive in Japan than in the US!

That is because the government subsidise certain products to corner a market. They did it with motorcycles, cars and diggers in the past. Well known about.

they do same in the states. Ya can't import a seondhand car unless it's at least 25years old

Spacepig, the price of a brand new Range Rover in Portugal starts at £125,000 so consider yourself lucky.

That's insane! But at least in Europe you can always go and buy the car in another country and drive it back !
