Be patient and gentle with me ladies. I was speaking to a guy yesterday and he has a TD5 Discovery which is returning 30mpg with just under 200,000 on the clock.This impressed me, I quite fancy one in the future. I looked on Ebay but I see there are TD5 Defenders. Does TD5 refer to the engine? Please excuse my ignorance but I am a Series buff and would like to venture into the dark world of more modern Landies! Please feel free to take the **** but I wont sleep tonight again if I dont find out.

Erm, my Defender has a TD5 enjun. It has a Turbo, it uses diesel and it has five cylinders, or are you taking da pith?

Honestly not extracting the urine but I couldnt understand why 2 different models are called TD5. Presumably TD is Turbo Diesel, whats the 5, it doesnt have 5 pots does it?
