Well decided today too fing my oil leaks and found valley end front gasket where pump weirdly leaking from telltale hole thought this was a water leaking point but found pump bolts not that tight and timing cover leaks doing the sump and replace pickup pipe and might do oil pump is this advised as I'm now spending lots on other stuff so just checking if it's wise to do

Thanks nick

How many miles?

154000
Rebuilt at 120 by Turners
Have started strip and clean down found lots of small leaks
So now replacing once I've cleaned it properly that's a weeks worth as power steering is baked on
Water pump
p steering
Sump and timing gasket
Crank gasket
Valley gasket
Rads
Rocker seals
So far

There's specific points on the valley gasket at front & back around the coolant holes in the heads that need sealant. Also make sure the seals at front & back are new & trimed properly plus add a smal blob of RTV on re-assembly.

While you have the water pump off, consider doing oil pump as well.

Unfortunately Turner's rebuilds have been the subject of comment for some years now. V8 Developments seem to be the preferred choice at the moment, albeit they have something of a waiting list issue.

Well as I dig deeper into it I will keep you informed
Should I use a tiny amount of sealants just on the rubber were it ends and not everywhere or tiny thin round over places aswell just I don't want to over due it

Thanks nick

Oil pump can I buy separately or is that casing part only

You need four blobs of RTV where the heads join the block. See step 25.

Also make sure the two rubber seals are good fit, and that the metal clamps are not bent out of shape.

You seem to be having too many oil leaks. I suggest checking your crankcase breather system. If its not venting vapours/pressure, you'll find oil leaks everywhere...

Nah, about right for a v8!

Rear crank seal; front crank seal; front cover gasket; valley gasket; sump gasket; sump drain plug washer; oil cooler pipe unions; oil cooler; rocker gaskets. Use Sh!tpart and you can have endless fun replacing them every year or so.
